About the author

Bob Waymire for the past twenty-one years has lived in Etna, California in a valley in the Northern California mountains.  He writes devotional materials, poetry, and articles relating to non-religious, relational Christianity.  He and his wife, Judi have spent the past thirty-five years in global missions.  Prior history involved aerospace and cattle-ranching.  Bob has written several mission-related book, including: Discovering Your City: Bringing Light to the Task of Community Transformation.

Bob was born in the Southern Nevada town of Overton, and spent his school years there. He served in the Naval Air Corp during the Korean War. He subsequently became involved in aerospace at Lockheed Missile in Sunnyvale, California (1957-1962) working on underwater launch missiles (Polaris, Poseidon, forerunners of the Trident).  He owned a cattle ranch  in the mountains of Colorado from 1962-1966, then after suffering through a divorce, returned to aerospace as a senior program engineer/consultant (1966-1973).

In 1971 he married Judi Holt, and became involved in world missions that same year.  Bob's work in mission's research and strategy has taken him to sixty-five countries. In 1983 he founded Global Mapping International (www.GMI.org - now in Colorado Springs, CO, Bob remains on the Board of Directors), and in 1991 founded LIGHT International.  Both organizations  serve the informational and strategic aspects of world missions.

Before moving to Etna, CA where they now live, they met Wendell and Marilyn Seward.  Upon moving to Etna they began weekly meetings with the Sewards and this still goes on. (Wendell escaped this mortal life in 2007)  They also became involved in their local neighborhood and nearby towns, Bob still traveling widely until the end of 2007.

He continues writing today in a variety of genre including: relational Christianity, devotionals, and some poetry.  He continues to serve in a consultive role for world missions.

Bob and Judi continue to live Etna, California.
